"Ephemera" serves as the revelation in the cyborg chronicle. It is here that we come to understand his mission and its outcome. With the world coming to a fiery end, some launch themselves in rockets in an attempt to escape the dying planet while those who remain watch in despair as the rockets explode mid-air. Only one ship, piloted by the imperiled cyborg manages to break through the atmosphere, then the time-space barrier.
